As Hurricane Ian-Biden acquires power, the state of emergency is declared in South Carolina.

Over the Southeast United States, Ian is anticipated to rapidly fade late on Friday or early on Saturday. Ian might gain a little strength before impact.

After spending the majority of Thursday as a tropical storm, Ian has been reduced to a hurricane once more as it gets ready to hit the South Carolina coastline.

President Joe Biden has proclaimed a state of emergency.

Ian is predicted to make landfall today at roughly 2:00 PM somewhere near Charleston, South Carolina. The National Hurricane Center predicts that it will cause high winds, flooding, and dangerous storm surge in parts of Florida, Georgia, and North and South Carolina.

Ian was predicted to "rapidly weaken across the southeastern United States late Friday into Saturday" and to "little strengthen before impact."

Hundreds of rescue efforts have been ongoing in Florida owing to the disastrous floods brought on by one of the greatest hurricanes the state has ever experienced.

Thousands of people were left stranded around the state as neighborhoods were submerged by several feet of water, and rescue operations from roofs were observed by coast guard planes. 2.5 million people are still without energy.

According to the most recent assessment, Hurricane Ian may have caused $120 billion in damage and economic losses.
